The RIU Grand Palace
Situated on the southernmost tip of North America lies a small piece of paradise.  With a expansive turquoise ocean on all sides the desert backdrop takes on a character of its own.  The majestic rock formations, the desert plants and magnificent sunrises and sunsets make even the hard core city dweller look in awe.  So where is this oasis in the desert? Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a magnificent strip of land that was once just a small desert fishing town on the Sea.  Now it is home of some of the world's finest resorts, golf courses, surf spots and finest Marlin Fishing in the world.  From the moment you land in San Jose Del Cabo, you can not help but feel the tranquility of being in another world, away from skyscapers, strip malls and piles of paperwork. The climate is warm but there is no humidity, and just to think that you are surrounded by water.  The nights are cool with a fresh trade wind blowing in from the water.

Well now that you have the picture let me tell you a little inside secret as to the must of the city.  To start off with 1) pick great friends to go with (Thank you Blake & Tanya) 2) Pick a nice resort (We chose the Riu Grand Palace, and it was fabulous) 3) leave your resort and take some side trips.

The Lands End Arch
The Riu Grand Palace gets a 5 star rating with large rooms that includes a sitting area as well as a large balcony that overlooks the Sea of Cortez. The resort has phenomenal view of the The Land's End Arch as well.  The hotel boast 2 large pools, 2 whirlpools, spa, fitness club, dance club, as well as many fine restaurants.  The resort has a steak and seafood night with fresh cooked lobster tails, crab legs, shrimp, grouper, mahi-mahi, and many other choices.  Also the resort has several areas in where to sit and relax.

Travel with friends...if you like them!
You might say, why leave the resort.  Cabo San Lucas has many activities from "Swimming with the Dolphins", to shopping in a state of the art Mall, to enjoying a walk through the Marina, to night life capped off at Cabo Wabo.  The area has snorkeling and scuba diving excursions, as well as ATV desert tours through the movie sets of "Troy". The area boast some of the best surfing on the Baja Peninsula with outfitters who will instruct as well as put you riding some great waves.  I must mention the fishing.  If you have ever wanted to catch a marlin or go deep sea fishing, this is the place.  The heart pounding battle that ensues when you hook up with a 180# Striped Marlin is just awesome.  Blake and I used "Pisces Sportfishing" and they were superb in making sure that we both caught Marlin.  The nice thing about Cabo San Lucas is that there is a boardwalk of restaurants that surrounds the Marina and the food is fantastic.  Each place will even cook your catch if you desire to do so.
The food in Cabo is fantastic with hundreds of choices.  I recommend a couple: Mi Casa for authentic Mexican, and The Restaurant at Las Ventanas.  Please come discover the paradise of Cabo San Lucas.

God has made a Beautiful Place
