Best Seat In The House! PDF Print E-mail

Not All Seats Are Created Equal
On a recent trip to New York City I had what I thought was the worst seat on the plan. It was toward the rear so I had a tremendous amount of engine noise and felt really cramped.

While sometimes you don't have a choice in seat (Southwest or not much available when booking the flight) one web site is trying to at least point in you in the right direction when you do. SeatGuru.com is a fantastic site where you can see seating diagrams for every commercial plane flown today. SeatGuru also gives advice on the best and worst seats on the plane.

The interface is easy to use. Airlines are listed alphabetically on the left hand side. Once the airline is selected all the aircraft that the airline uses are shown. Clicking on the specific aircraft then pulls up the schematic of the plane. SeatGuru not only does a great job of pointing out the obvious prized seats (emergency exit row seats) but ones you need to stay away from (ones that are too close to the bathrooms for example).

So...when booking that next flight  take a peek at SeatGuru and know you are getting the best seat available.
