The Voyager even has an ice rink on board!
Royal Caribbean's experiment this year with shorter Mediterranean cruises that often had more family appeal was successful enough for the cruise line to schedule the 3,939-passenger Voyager of the Seas for a return next year.

Unlike Royal's longer Mediterranean cruises on Legend of the Seas, the Voyager sailings are only three to seven nights.

The shorter cruises are appealing not only to families but also to first-timers who want a sample of life at sea.

Royal Caribbean said about 15% of their passengers are children, and that all other age groups are evenly distributed.

The Voyager offers a broad range of entertainment ranging from full-size basketball courts to an ice-skating rink. There are also child-friendly Ben & Jerry's ice cream stands and nightclubs for the adults.

Fares start at $399 for three nights. To book a cruise click HERE .
